VLOGGING TIPS FOR BEGINNERS |
1. Plan in Advance
If you want to succeed in vlogging, it is important to set a goal. If you don't know what you want to achieve with your vlogs, you don't know the steps you must follow to get there. What do you want to achieve with your vlogs? Do you want to overcome the shyness of your camera, improve video editing or want to reach 10,000 subscribers and get sponsorship? Set some small short-term goals and some larger long-term goals so you know what you do and can adjust when necessary.
2. Follow Your Passion
Many people are creating vlogs based on what they think will get the most visits. This is a big mistake that will prevent you from becoming a popular vlogger!
At first, you can try to fake enthusiasm, but after some vlogs, your viewers will see that you really don't like what you are doing.
It will also be increasingly difficult to motivate yourself to vlog if you have to talk about things you don't enjoy talking about!
Find your passion and create your vlogs around that passion. Your passion can be fitness, fashion, games or any other hobby or sport.
3. Choose A Niche
Try to find a niche for your vlogs that you are passionate about, that is large enough to attract viewers and subscribers and that is not extremely competitive. Of course, your passion and your niche should overlap so that you also enjoy creating videos on this topic.
4. Understand Your Audience
It is important to understand who your (potential) viewers are and what they like and what they don't like. How old are they, what are they passionate about, whether they are men, women or mixed? Once you have a good idea of who your audience is, you can better adapt your vlogs to your audience.
5. Upgrade Your Vlogging Equipment
Don't be afraid to invest in yourself and your YouTube channel. Update your vlog camera, take a new microphone or try a new editing software. Always focus on improving your vlogs in terms of quality.

6. Consistency
Consistency is key if you want to become a popular vlogger. Almost all popular vloggers with many subscribers have been on YouTube for at least some years. Some have even been on YouTube for more than 10 years!
Even after all those years, quality videos are still uploaded regularly. Be consistent when uploading, how much you upload and the quality of your vlogs so your viewers know what to expect.
You won't get many subscribers if you suddenly stop uploading for a month.

7. Add a Regular Theme Or Segment
To Your VlogsMost vloggers have a recurring "thing" in their vlogs that they are known for or that their viewers love. This can be a unique way to start or end the vlog, but it can also be something you do regularly.
This regular "thing" in your vlogs can also be something you do a lot in your vlogs or something your audience asks for. For example, the popular vlogger Casey Neistat regularly bought a $ 1 pizza and became a regular segment.
He also made "mail time" once or twice a week when he opened the packages sent by the spectators. Another popular vlogger, Jon Olsson, responds to the comments of one of his viewers in each vlog.
8. What Can You Cut Out?
Most vloggers only think about what they can add to their vlogs but never think about what they can cut out.
Ask your viewers to leave a comment with feedback or check your analytics to see if there is a certain part in your vlogs where a lot of viewers stop watching.
It might be hard to cut out certain parts of your vlogs, especially if they have been a part of your vlog for a long time, but it will make your vlogs better.
9. Follow Trends and Participate
Always try to keep up with the latest trends and participate in them as soon as possible.
Videos around a popular trend are much more likely to become viral than a normal vlog, so this could help grow your YouTube channel. Trends may also include news such as vacations.
10. Focus on Quality
Make quality the main focus of your vlogs. Many vloggers try to follow a daily schedule of vlogs even though they don't have enough footage to create an entertaining vlog every day.
Always focus on making high quality vlogs that your viewers enjoy watching, even if that means you only upload 1-2 videos per week.
11. Tell a Story
Humans like stories. The most successful vloggers understand this and try to tell a story with their vlogs instead of a compilation of random clips.
Try to take your viewers through your day with your vlog. This does not mean that you have to film every meal and every minute, but when filming in different places, show a part of the trip.
Most vloggers record a clip at location A, then at location B and put the clips together during editing.
Good vloggers like Casey Neistat also film coming out the door, getting in the car and arriving so that the spectators feel they are with you during the day.
12. Upload Consistently
Whatever you do, keep going up. This part is so incredibly important because most beginner vloggers give up when their channel doesn't grow as fast as they would like. Keep going, you never know when your big opportunity could come
